To be concerned about neighbours?

I'm up at this hour due to a flare up from a skin condition. I've just glanced out of the bedroom window and noticed the front door of one of the houses opposite is wide open. They're living room lights have also been left on. I don't know the house owners by name but I think they're an elderly couple. Would you be concerned for them? I would go out and check on them but just a bit worried what I might find Sad

If you possibly can, then go and check. You won't get back to sleep for wondering anyway.
I hope everything's ok ( have an elderly dad)

GoTitansGo · 14/01/2019 03:21

I think you need to check

ZeroFuchsGiven · 14/01/2019 03:22

Personally in those circumstances I would call the police.

Aebj · 14/01/2019 03:24

Yes I would call the police

AlphaFemale86 · 14/01/2019 03:32

I would check if you possibly can. Just be careful and if worried call the police. Don't put yourself at risk.

Atchiclees · 14/01/2019 03:32

I’d call the police too.

Scabby99 · 14/01/2019 03:44

Thanks all - dh is asleep and I'm too chicken to go out so I've called the police. They're sending someone out to check on them. Hopefully it's just blown open in the wind Cake

Hope everything is ok OP

RebootYourEngine · 14/01/2019 04:06

Hope everything is ok. I would have done the same.

BBInGinDrinking · 14/01/2019 04:09

Well done, OP. Hope all is OK.

BBInGinDrinking · 14/01/2019 04:12

Will you watch out for them and go to speak to the police, or are you content now to try to go back to sleep?

MissMacaron · 14/01/2019 04:13

Well done on calling the police. Hope all is ok.

Tiredismymiddlename85 · 14/01/2019 04:26

I personally wouldn't go round (just because I'm a scaredy cat) so ringing the police was the best option. My curiosity would also get the better of me so I would stay watching at the window Blush

ApolloandDaphne · 14/01/2019 04:31

I do hope all is okay?

Scabby99 · 14/01/2019 04:46

They're safe and sound, thank goodness Smile. They'd left the door on the latch, gone to bed and it had blown open in the wind.. Police came out, made sure they were fine and door is now closed. Brew

Your good deed for the night. Flowers

They were vulnerable with the door open. It could have been a burglary like my neighbours, or a vulnerable person with dementia like my now late DParent, leaving the door open or wandering.

You might get to know each other better now?

jessstan2 · 14/01/2019 05:07

You're a very good neighbour, you did the right thing. Glad everything was alright.
Flowers for you.

Atchiclees · 14/01/2019 08:09

Flowers for you op. Good deed done.
