Lump in my leg

I've had a lump appear in my thigh. I'm fat but it's really noticeable and large. It's hot and I have shooting pains going to my knee.

Is it likely to be something serious? I'll try to get a gp appointment tomorrow. Is it likely to be a pulled muscle? I'm so embarrassed that I'll have to take my trousers off Blush

A hot and painful lump sounds more likely to be some type of infection than a pulled muscle, though not ruling out muscular pain. You need to see your GP. GP’s see lots of bodies, of all shapes and sizes, so no need to be embarrassed about showing your leg! They really appreciate clean and pleasant smelling above dirty and smelly, if expressing a preference Grin!

I'll definitely be clean and smelling fresh 😂. Just hope I can actually get an appointment soon.

I think it would warrant a same day appointment!

Definitely book an appointment for tomorrow. Is there redness too? If so, draw a line around it see if it spreads any more. I’ve had two bouts of cellulitis this year, sounds similar!

If you are feeling brave put a photo.

Does it feel like a hard pea just under the skin? I get them, and a hot red patch develops. It’s thrombophlebitis.

Bishbashthrash · 13/01/2019 22:55

No it's massive not pea like at all. I've had cellulitis before on my neck.

My neck was all red yesterday and I mentioned to DH that I hope it wasn't cellulitis coming back again. I was bitten and since then I've had it 3 times.

No redness at all. I can't take a photo as I'm too lazy to get out of bed and I'd be far to embarrassed.

Typically there were no appointments left by the time I got through. I had to ring back to speak to a doctor and he gave me an appointment for the morning. He said to go to a&e if I get a temperature.

Good luck for tomorrow, hope it's not any worse today.
