Bed bugs? Warning - Gross photos attached

My best friend has just called me to let me know that she's found something in her bed. Unbeknown to me about two months ago she had her bedroom treated for bed bugs - or that is what the exterminator called them. She has now found this - is it a bed bug? On closer inspection she thinks there are dead bedbugs on the floor underneath her bed. I'm assuming this is the same thing but have no idea so I'm posting on here. Also she says she has not been bitten so what looks like blood on the sheets might be squashed bedbugs?? Sorry I said it was revolting.

Reading up on this it looks like sometimes 2 or 3 treatments are needed to get rid and if one treated has not worked I'm tempted to advise just to chuck the mattress and buy new although it will be expensive.

Any ideas?? Thanks

Poor thing. Bedbugs are the worst. I’m not sure about the pictures, the first one does look like a dead bedbug but it’s hard to see without scale, they are usually around apple pip sized. There’s a bed bug forum that’s terrifying but useful too. I’d get the exterminator back before buying a new mattress as they might not just be in the bed and you don’t want the new one to be infested.

Looks like a bedbug to me.

Two treatments is the minimum that's required, as the pesticides don't kill the eggs, so a second treatment has to be timed for after and eggs have hatched but before they mature enough to lay eggs themselves.

She's best just getting someone out today to check for her and start treatment if needed. I hope she gets it sorted soon OP. Bedbugs are horrendous Sad
