Woke up crying over late brother

My lovely brother died ten years ago. He would be 41 now. Unrelated to anything, I woke up missing him terribly this morning. I can't believe he's gone. He was so kind.

Flowers for you which I hope are not inappropriate in the circumstances. It's very sad to lose someone you were so close to.

You were fortunate to have such a good brother and he was fortunate to have you as a sibling. Not surprising you feel sad around the time he died and he was so very young too. Life seems unfair sometimes but I hope you have good memories. What did he die of?

Bless you x.

Thank you so much.

I don't know what got into me this morning. A cup of coffee is helping me get a grip.

He was so hilarious and kind. He died of cancer, after many years of aggressive treatment.

He deserves to be missed and you are doing him proud to take time to remember him, just like you are doing him proud by living your life and having lots of happy times. He is always with you Flowers

Thank you.

I am lucky to have had him as a brother. I prayed and prayed to have a baby brother and then when I was seven my mother announced that she was pregnant. I was like, hey, it worked!

I try to live my life with his kindness and light-heartedness. Is that a word?

Yes, I think lightheartedness is a word.
I hope you feel a bit better now. Was thinking about you a little while ago.

Take care.

Sounds like he was a little gift from God OP but could only stay for a short while. Bless you, hope you have been ok today.

Thanks guys.

Yesterday at work someone said, 'You are such a supportive and chilled out presence here...' which is NOT something that comes naturally to me but rather something I learned from David and really try to cultivate.

Flowers to the kind responders

I’m sorry xx

@Waytooearly how awful. At least you have fond memories. Be kind to yourself. It's not wrong to grieve.

In the words of E M Forster, absence implies presence; absence is not non existence.

Take care.
