I just looked at Mrs Hinch's toilet roll stamp

What a load of fucking shit.

I'd seen it mentioned on here a couple of times and so I just googled it. Why the fuck would anyone want a drip stain on their toilet roll. As if someone thinks "Oh this is a new roll, great". It's just fucking toilet roll!

She suffers from anxiety too. Holy fuck. There really are some foul people on here.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 15/01/2019 10:45

And you're aware that there's been more than a couple of incidents online where this sort of anonymous slagging off/trolling of 'insta-famous' people - mainly young ish women - has resulted in suicides? You know that right? You only have to have a google

Goodness me.

BatShaped · 15/01/2019 10:47

@derxa good point

I'm not her target audience either. I just don't care who has grey sofas or who likes cleaning their own home or a woman making some money for herself. It doesn't impact on me

But I'm aware that threads like this impact on her and others like her. I know what it's like actually but I won't go further into that as it's not relevant.

She's upfront about being anxious. Why not just either stick to your astonishment that some people like a nice clean home or just don't post in the first place? You do not epitomise what mumsnet is supposed to be about - unless you can actively demonstrate how you're making the life of this woman easier?

RtIock · 15/01/2019 10:47

Mrs hinch is a brand as well as a person obviously, personal attacks against her should be deleted but Talk about her brand and what it promotes, mixing chemicals, an obsession to clean, "hauls", the sheer waste should be allowed to stand and be discussed.

BatShaped · 15/01/2019 10:48

@OVAgroundWOMBlingfree it's true. And please don't try and make out my post was hysterical and frothing. It's not as it's there for everyone to read. It's measured and I state very clearly - unless you're hard of reading - that this is just the sort of thing that leads to MH problems and the worsening of them

Unless you'd like a thread devoted to how awful and boring and weird you are as a person?

GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 10:48

Bowchica

Yup. People with anxiety in the public eye have to man up and get a thicker skin - if they put themselves out there, can't expect not to be slagged off from everything from their looks to their family.
That's how it usually goes on here anyway and looks like this threads no different to the others.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 15/01/2019 10:49

100% this.

Sareted1604 · 15/01/2019 10:50

Why on earth are you attacking a pregnant woman? She’s hurting know one and helping 1000’s of ladies everyday. You really should be ashamed of yourself #keyboardwarrier!🤬

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 15/01/2019 10:50

Bat I think you’ve made rather a large leap in that post there. But fair enough, that’s your opinion.

Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:51

I agree that critism of the use of excessive chemicals and single use plastic is absolutely fair game. The slagging off of the woman in question in terms of her personality and looks is not on.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 15/01/2019 10:51

*no one
*warrior

Why is it only ‘ladies’ she is helping with her cleaning tips?

GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 10:52

Unless you'd like a thread devoted to how awful and boring and weird you are as a person?
Ha. Yes, bet that'd go down well. Get upset? Tough, get a thicker skin, we're allowed to discuss you.
Oh yeah, were we again? Yes you're crap ad infinitum.
Bet it wouldn't be seen as so hilaire then.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 15/01/2019 10:52

I agree re the ‘brand’ vs the individual.

Beerflavourednipples · 15/01/2019 10:53

I've seen quite a few in the FB group. It's not just women despite what people want to think.

There aren't 'quite a few'. There is the odd man, it is overwhelmingly women, probably 98%. Because cleaning is women's work innit.

cocoajumbo · 15/01/2019 10:54

Those who willing, intentionally and consistently place themselves in the public eye need to have a fucking thick skin. There will ALWAYS be criticism.

Ardent followers are so quick to cry 'If you don't like it, UNFOLLOW!'. But those 'influencers' on the receiving end of a shitty stick can always stop posting if they don't want to read negative comments which exists outside the insta echo chamber.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:54

And you're aware that there's been more than a couple of incidents online where this sort of anonymous slagging off/trolling of 'insta-famous' people - mainly young ish women - has resulted in suicides? You know that right? You only have to have a google. Im not for one minute suggesting this has the potential for that of course. But I personally wouldn't feel comfortable in knowing I was actively causing hurt to someone who isn't actually hurting me personally What load of shit. Firstly, YOU ARE sugesting this as a potential and it's disgusting. As if we can't talk about anything or have opinions for the fear of someone killing themselves..

I have anxiety, so what? I am pregnant, so what? If someone said your toilet roll stamping and use of chemicals is ridiculous oh and your house is grey, that's hardly going to tip me over the edge.

Yeh, of course i have cleaning products but actually not too many and I use them sparingly. I certainly don't buy numerous bottles of them, use them in great volumes or encourage others to do them. No one is saying they don't use any cleaning products...

Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:54

As I have already said cleaning is not my thing but when I went through a traumatic and chaotic time in my life when I was a carer I did find it gave me a routine and sense of achievement and control. It’s hard to understand that unless you have lives though it. Perhaps this is what the people who follow this account have found? Perhaps they just like cleaning though which is also fine.

Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:55

You really can’t see the harm people like can cause OP can you?

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:57

Nope

OP posts:
GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 10:57

It's not a load of shit. The pp is right. There was one who had threads about her in here who suffered with her mental health.
Did it stop people having a right old bitch still and demanding that they shouldn't be deleted even when it was pointed out by mods?
No.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:58

I can see the harm that Hinch and her followers can cause. And i guarantee it'll be a million times worse than anything I can do. If calling her a boring is the worst I can do. Ffs.

OP posts:
GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 10:59

It's not just "boring" though is it? Even her looks are fair game on a kicking thread.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 15/01/2019 11:01

The “you wouldn’t like it if we said it about you” argument is so weak, it’s unreal. Back to school for critical though and debating skills.

Let me point out, I wasn’t one of the people who could have even vaguely trolling this woman. My stance here is that people have the right to be critical of a person who makes a career from exposing their ideas to millions of people, or as the poster above put it, making themselves a “personal brand”.

Mrs Hinch is clearly switched on when it comes to marketing, she clearly helps a lot of people because she is so accessible.
Her advice in places is still eyebrow raising and that is what deserves scrutiny.

I hope she is able to get some good advice about making her career in this role a long standing one which does her good without having an impact on the physical health of strangers and the environment. Hopefully Gleam will hook her up with someone who can talk through eco cleaning recipes.

derxa · 15/01/2019 11:02

I think it's a class issue also. MN is middle class. Slight slovenliness is very MN. Grey and matchy furnishings are looked down upon. Mrs H. is a hairdresser so I'm thinking she didn't go to a Russell Group university. She's blonde and beautiful. How very dare she be successful.

Sareted1604 · 15/01/2019 11:02

If all your lives are that boring you have to bitch about another person than so be it. Personally if someone offended me this much I just wouldn’t talk about it but hey ho, you take on Mrs Hinch and you take on her 1.6 million followers! Anyway I’m off to dave my living room and pine the toilets, laterssss
