Found out the a couple of days ago that Aldi doesn't state 'amount tendered' on it's receipts, or 'change given'. The checkout operators apparently calculate the change themselves. I had a query about my change, so checked my receipt to see how much I should have had, only to find it didn't state the amount, or that I'd handed over £10.
Apparently, the operator does have the option to key in the amount tendered, so I asked for this to be done today, only to find that it still doesn't state how much change is given!
Can anyone see any benefits behind this way of doing things? It seems particularly dodgy to me, but then I'm particularly suspicious and have too much time on my hands
