Is there anyway to actually speak to someone at this bloody company?

They claim that I owe over £300 to them, have restricted all my services and I cannot get past the automated system until I pay the full amount that I dispute.

Absolutely infuriating.
The company itself is a joke. I'm so angry.

‭0330 041 2688‬

I always choose the option to leave - whatever my problem is - always get an actual person

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 12/01/2019 13:13

@FinallyFree123456789 they physically will not allow me to speak to anyone until I have paid the amount they say I owe.
It doesn't give me the option to speak to anyone, I only get an automated message.

It says that if I 'can't' pay now to call back later. I am not paying an amount I do not owe without speaking to someone first.

Angry

Have you tried the online chat service?
You can get through to someone and then request that they call you

3out · 12/01/2019 13:15

Can’t you phone as if you were a new customer, and once you’re through to someone give them your details?

Corrag · 12/01/2019 13:20

Is the phone system recognising who you are because of the phone number you're calling from? If so, dialling 141 before the tel number might help.

Corrag · 12/01/2019 13:21

Or...ring from another phone.

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 12/01/2019 13:22

@FinallyFree123456789 I've tried that. The woman manning the chat was so rude and said she recommends I pay the amount ASAP and they can amend it after. I don't trust this at all.

@3out Unfortunately because my landline and mobile number is connected to the Sky account I get the same poxy automated message. It's driving me insane.

I had similar with Post office phone company. I was livid something they did had result in an incorrect charge and they could do nothing until it was paid. I was on the phone for 3hours going back and forth. Unfortunately I had to face as it was my Grandads phone and he had been cut off. Once paid they agreed it was all completely their error but the money paid would be deducted off future bills not as a refund. I'm still angry now, they were awful I'm just pleased my Grandad had someone to help him as the way they behaved on the phone was shocking and it was all their fault!!!! Grrr!

Basically I think you will have to pay as they will be locked out of the computer until it's paid, which is shit.

homemadegin · 12/01/2019 13:26

Can you create a sky account online and look at your bill to see what's going on first. Then once you see what the charges are call from a different number. We had something similar with charges although not to that extent, and it was films DN had downloaded.

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 12/01/2019 15:28

Finally got through to someone who was about as useful as a chocolate teapot and so, so rude.
I've never been spoken to like that as a customer before.

Tried to ask to raise a complaint about his attitude and he said 'not Skys fault so I can't do that.'
Trying to work out how I can speak to someone now.

Think I'm going to have to pay it in full and work out what the bloody hell as gone on.

Furious as to how I was spoken to though.

I was spoken too appallingly by the Post Office too. They read back from the computer a message put on by. Previous customer services officer saying the bill had to be withheld due to billing problem to be resolved by Post Office, yet they wouldn't speak to me until I paid the bill that should never have been issued. Still stomping mad to be honest.

Best of luck to you.

Use Twitter to rant about them. Chances are you will get a response within an hour!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 14/01/2019 17:57

Facebook or Twitter rant. Really really rant as well. Companies hate seeing bad review plastered in plain view.

YesOrNoThatsTheQuestion · 14/01/2019 18:16

Stick to freeview. Sky are nothing but hassle.
