Reflux

Hi everyone. My LG is 8 weeks old today. I’m pretty sure she has reflux, she’s been on cow and gate comfort milk as initially we thought it was colic. This has been working for the past 3-4weeks, over the past few days during feeds she starts to fight the bottle then sicks up some formula then is completely inconsolable until she eventually falls asleep. We’ve been using infacol prior to her feeds and gripe water after but these now don’t seem to be helping. My question is has anyone else’s little one suffered with this if it is reflux and what did you find helped to take the pain away from your baby? It’s breaking my heart to see her in pain. We saw the GP yesterday who just told us to carry on with the infacol and gripe water but I don’t think that’s appropriate.
TIA from a tired and sad mummy.

You can buy cow and gate anti reflux milk. It is thicker than the normal powder milk.

Medication and possibly dairy free milk is the only thing that fixes reflux pain (they grow out the vomiting phase to a large extent but the pain needs to be managed through meds and milk). A large percentage of reflux is triggered due to a dairy intolerance but doctors put you on a reflux ladder and get you to work up. Infacol, then gaviscon, ranititidine, omperozole and milk changes. Sadly in my experience you have to fight to skip the lower steps. Try get referred to a paediatrician or if you are able to pay to go private. Watching them scream in agony is shit but solutions exist

My daughter found the anti reflux milk worked much better than any medication for her little one. Winding more often during the feed also helped.
