I'm thinking of getting my bathroom done next year . I need inspiration . Would you mind sharing your bathroom.

Also what was essential when designing a bathroom.

Iv never done this before so have no idea where to start . What type of flooring is best with underfloor heating? Any recommendations on bathroom suppliers .

Thanks.

Here are s couple of images of when my bathroom was just finished - it’s never been so clutter free or clean since! For me storage and the flow through the room are most important. The recesses in the shower are really handy and the sink unit has a large shelf for towels and two big drawers for cleaning products, loo roll & toiletries. Good lighting and ventilation is important too.

Pinterest is your friend, I spent ages getting inspiration and creating idea boards.

Houzz is also brilliant for specialist advice and pics. It allows you to store photos in a ' case book' which others can see, allowing them to judge your style.

And obviously there’s a sink but it’s hiding next to the toilet. I get a lot of compliments (from all ages) for the floor tiles. They really brighten the room up!

Before we go any further with this thread, can we just be clear that a sink is something you have in the kitchen. The vessel in the bathroom in which you wash your face is called a wash basin. Carry on.

Tattie - great floor!

For me, after years of it fashioned bathrooms with irritating nooks and crannies that accumulate dirt, my focus was on a bathroom that was easy to clean. It's tiny so I tiled to the ceiling (but probably wouldn't do that in a large bathroom), bath is fully fitted, wash basin and.cupboard below all fitted an s sealed in etc.

I also wanted something quite neutral but with a bit of colour so we used light coloured/sand tiles but with some lovely bright ones in mixed colours to lift it.

Think about bath ans/or shower. I love a bath so finding a way to fit a decent size one in was important an s we squeezed in a p shape so that the shower over the bath is much bigger and more.comfortable than they usually are. Also think about storage- out of sight for medicine/tampaz/spare towels but also around bath/shower/ basin for day to day toiletries. We didn't have space for recessed shelving built in around bath or shower but if I had, those would have been key. We do have two lovely glass shelves on wither side of the basin - one over bath - for storing body washes etc on bath side and moisturizers and cleansers etc on the other.

Sorry - flooring is curiosity!

TattiePants · 11/01/2019 18:57

Alessandro, call it what you like but I’ll stick to sink thanks. I hardly think anyone will have difficulty understanding my post.....

Kittykat93 · 11/01/2019 18:58

@TattiePants

Well said Grin

Kikipost · 11/01/2019 19:05

@AlessandroVasectomi

Might want to take that point up with bathroom suppliers too. I am sure they’ll be fascinated

@CmdrIvanova love your bathroom too..

I'm torn between a patterned ceramic tile and the Amtico flooring .

One of my concerns is that it might date if I go for a patterned tile .

@Kikipost - I think those suppliers must have been catering for those who don’t know the correct terms. If they want to sell you a product, they won’t care what you call it.

I absolutely love your bathroom. I may screen shot for future reference. I have never had my bathroom redone I've just had to decorate and make do but I love it even although it is probably the smallest bathroom in history. Can't post a pic though as these bathroom put it to shame Sad

Kikipost · 11/01/2019 19:28

Don’t worry about that OP.
Go with what you like, don’t give a fig about fashion. Enjoy it.

ElvisParsley · 11/01/2019 19:38

These are from two bathrooms done last year. They are quite simply done.
Patterned porcelain coming up in next post...

Let's see if it likes this one any better.
Love this one. And I don't care if it dates!

Meant to say that the photos were taken before quite finished- but all done now.

Kikipost · 11/01/2019 19:51

Bloody hell elvis.... does everyone fight over the main bathroom?! It’s like they’re in two different properties!

ElvisParsley · 11/01/2019 19:56

It's turned it into a panoramic photo for some reason. It's actually a square room, about 2.5m. It's my en suite, I don't let the kids anywhere near it. Blush

Family bathroom is in the previous post, now it has decided to show the photos, the one with the white sink. The other one is another en suite, but I only have a picture of half the room!
