For me it's:

  • the Syrian boy on the beach
  • Leah Betts
  • Millie Dowler at the ironing board

Derek Wood and David Howes were the soldiers murdered at the funeral in Andersonstown, Belfast in 1988

Oh God I remember seeing that on the news. It was horrific. Made me feel physically ill. What those poor men went through doesnt bear thinking about.

The piles of glasses confiscated at Auschwitz during WWII. I think it gives a realisation of just how many people suffered, especially when you think maybe 1/5 wore glasses?

Also the photo of the Syrian refugee family that I can't find currently. Recently (last week?) I saw a photo of them now living safely in Canada. Again, can't seem to find it annoyingly!

Rachel Whittear was the young girl found kneeling over after a drug overdose.

MsMamaNature that is the one that haunts me. I understood v little of what was happening at the time - I was a teenager, but seeing that filled me with so much fear that people could do that to one another as if it was a normal reaction I still feel sick about it.
The other one is more due to the headline - the day after the parents of the blended family that set fire to the house when the children were in it (think there was something about wanting a bigger house but that could just have been the media) were sentenced - the bastard fail put a family picture of them all up with the children that survived faces blanked out (as if that made much difference to them in reality, just to save the rag from the legal process) with the headline ‘The real face of benefits Britain ‘ - they wanted To demonise anyone on benefits (as I was then) as more likely to kill their own children.
