So long as it's a new one ... and adequately taped up etc, it wouldn't bother me if I were the recipient of your coat! Unless you've sold it for a lot in which case more might be expected.

I've done it loads of times on ebay.
Well wrapped and taped to death, paper handwritten address label taped on the top.

I wouldn't be happy if my purchase arrived in a bin bag. Hmm

katmunchkin · 11/01/2019 13:33

Please don't - I work for Royal Mail and the amount of complaints we get because items are missing or damaged, which turn out were packaged inadequately, is ridiculous. All packages are processed by machines and a bin bag will tear easily.

It's more at risk of damage surely? Easily ripped etc

Do you have any large carrier bags you could use instead? The sort you get from posh shops. The thick plastic is great for posting things as it's like the plastic envelopes clothing retailers use. I usually cut off the handles to make it into a posting bag.

Even a couple of "bag for life" type bags taped together work well.

I would if it’s one of those thick heavy duty ones, taped up very well and paper address (which is also cover in tape). I’ve had loads delivered in bin bags.

If you have a pound shop near you though they do packs of 3 of the biggest postage bags. That’d be better. Most of the shops by me sell those actually....
