How do you move house?

Ok.. sounds like a stupid question, but bear with me Grin

We're nearing our completion date on moving, so we know all that stuff.. but I've NEVER moved house before.. I mean, I've moved out of my parents house into my husbands. but never actually moved lock, stock and barrel.

So.. what the hell do we need to do with stuff like House insurances, phone/broadband/tv package, utilities, council tax...etc?

Help.

1)Redirect mail via Royal Mail - online
2) write yourself a long contact list - remember for the government sites you SHOULD NOT be paying - if it asks you are on a scam site. It is always gov.uk - work though. Apologies if non uk. Insurance then utilities then bank - I know I just had a statement - are at the top of mine then it works down with library last. Most things are just forms online these days so repetitive but easy. Grab a glass of your favourite tipple and split list.
3) if your not too stressed you can always see if you could save money off current packages. Money saving expert is good here

Thanks Mrs Pear.

But what do we do? Contact them by phone or post or online?
Do we cancel the insurances or transfer them?

Tell the DVLA by completing the V5 with your new address.
