What's a legitimate way I can see if I'm owed ppi

Contact the lender and explain why you believe you were missold. Why do you think this is the case?

The claims management cowboys don't have any information that you can't get yourself.

Yes I did that. It was years ago when they weren't always being truthful but I'm convinced I paid PPI. It was on a loan. Is it worth contacting them again?

If you've already made a complaint and not followed it up with the FOS then you'll be time barred now.

2nd the Martin's Money Saver page. There is an app called Resolver that does all the work and costs nothing. I got nearly £15k back and nearly fell off my chair when I opened the letter.
