We're up at the vets 2hrs away, puppy has had to have another surgery, he had one end of November and we all thought (vet included) it would be fine, now he's torn the ligament close to the previous surgical site so we're back again for round 2.

It's freezing and I'm just sitting in my car in the car park, I don't want to leave in case something happens, we don't know this town anyway and I grabbed a light coat (stupidly!) this morning so I'm freezing anywaysSad

What's going on in your lives? Hopefully no surgeries!
On the happy front I got an offer for uni yesterday which is keeping my mood somewhat positive. Smile

Might treat myself to a nice bag of crisps from the garage, I don't eat them often so I think this is the perfect opportunity to keep me busyGrin

Mmm crisps.

I am at home, DD is at preschool until 3, DS and I were meant to be doing all sorts but he has a cold and has been asleep on my lap for the last 45 minutes. He is supposed to be dropping his naps (almost 2yo). I badly need a wee.

waterplease · 10/01/2019 12:04

@CmdrIvanova ah, how sweet (though I appreciate you need a wee!Grin)

No way of waking him or moving him without him waking?

I wish I was at home.

Normally he is quite good at being put down and my bladder is screaming for me to do it, but he never sleeps on my knee any more (in fact he was never that much of a lap sleeper), and he is so warm and sweet looking...

waterplease · 10/01/2019 12:09

@CmdrIvanova suck it up thenWink baby/toddler snuggles are the best, my friends toddler once slept on me for 2 hours, doesn't help when they wriggle though as that made me need a wee too!😂

What do you think you'll do when your daughter is back from nursery?

I am waiting in, for the fourth day, for the non-existent plumber to call. Our only toilet is kaput and the letting agent has promised a visit from the plumber every day since Monday, what a way to spend my annual leave.

Well done on the uni offer, what are you going to be studying? Hope the puppy does ok.

CmdrIvanova · 10/01/2019 12:30

Any news on your poor pup yet? DS woke up but doesn't want to do anything except sit on my knee. He is usually a total menace, so he's definitely under the weather.

We will walk through the park after nursery and play for a while (hopefully DD will give up quick. Its freezing) then pop to tesco, so tbh I'll probably let Cbeebies babysit while I make dinner :)

babysharkah · 10/01/2019 12:37

Oh big hand hold. Ddog was very ill at Christmas, it's awful. What's the surgery for?

mogloveseggs · 10/01/2019 12:40

Hand hold here poor pup!
Which crisps?

waterplease · 10/01/2019 14:01

@mogloveseggs thank you! We've just been in with the vet- surgery successful and we can collect him at 3Smile

I ended up with some wine gums instead😂

waterplease · 10/01/2019 14:01

@babysharkah thank you! It's awful isn't it, hope your pup is well now.

He's only 11 months and has been through a lot! It's for Luxated Patella.

waterplease · 10/01/2019 14:03

@CmdrIvanova sounds like a nice afternoon- haha, gotta love a free babysitter!Smile Oh man it's freezing even in the car! I couldn't imagine standing around a play area for even a minute🙈❄️

Yes, we've just seen the vet, surgery successful and a lot less money than before thank god! Still a long healing time though. :(

@Oddsocksandmeatballs ugh waiting in for stuff is such a nightmare! Have you been able to contact the plumber? Hopefully he'll finally turn up!

Thank you :) I'm so pleased, it's for Law. I'm still young (20 next month) but I feel like I'm so behind only applying to uni now! X

@waterplease

mogloveseggs · 10/01/2019 23:21

I'll try again!
@waterplease wine gums are a suitable alternative i think? After all I don't think you could have a bottle of Wine in a car park at dinner time Grin
Hope pup is home and comfortable

waterplease · 11/01/2019 00:19

@mogloveseggs I wish!Grin it's been a long day, the journey home was 2hrs longer than it should have been due to rush hour traffic!

He's home, very sleepy! He had a little dinner and is on strict bed/crate rest for the next 6 weeks!
(He's a spaniel so I'm sure he's going to deal with that well... not!)😫

@waterplease Enjoy uni, my daughter didn't go until she was 22 and made a much better student than she would've done at 18. The plumber is coming on Saturday morning at 9.30am, allegedly. Glad that pup is ok, my friends dog has been through it twice and is finally beginning to get back on his feet after his second surgery. I have a spaniel and a collie, the idea of crate rest (or any form of rest is just Shock )

mogloveseggs · 11/01/2019 16:37

@waterplease good luck with keeping a spaniel calm Grin
Glad he's ok Smile
