Garlic breath in the night

Am I alone in really struggling with garlic and beer breath on dp?
Sometimes my children eat garlic bread at school and if I give them a hug they are garlicky and I can smell it but don't find it awful.
But occasionally my dh goes out for a meal and comes home with garlic and beer breath. Last night it was a Lebanese restaurant. He wasn't drunk or horrible, but his breath was so pungent that it literally kept waking me up. I ended up going to sleep on the sofa. This morning coming back in the bedroom I can smell it and it is still pungent. DH has cleaned his teeth but it still coming off him in waves.
Am I particularly sensitive to smells?
Or do some people get worse garlic breath from the same meal?

Btw I am definitely not pregnant.
I don't like to eat loads of garlic myself (though this would help) as I work in close proximity to children.

Zzzz, they could be, as they are mostly autistic I avoid perfume as well.
What does that have to do with me finding dh's garlic breath particularly strong, though?
