What gets you up?

New Years resolution is to try and become a better 'morning person'. So far, I have bought a lumir lamp and setting the alarm to 5live...been doing 10 mins earlier each day until I can wake at 6am (kids wake at 7, so was hoping in time, to have a good hour to wake up without being hassled before starting the day).

Any more help/tips?

watching as I would love to be a 6am person! that hour on the morning when you do get it is golden 😍 this morning I managed 6:30 but ds decided to rise with me 🙈 will look into a lumir lamp!
I think if you’re not a natural morning person you can train yourself into it but it’s hard going and one bad morning can knock you off track, so it’s important to get right back at it again after a few late mornings (late as in 7:30 for me lol)

Going to bed at 9.30. Probably not what you want to hear.

Needing a wee. Nothing else. i go back to bed and sleep afterwards.

My fitbit alarm... Much less severe to wake up to than my phone alarm ringing.

I used to have a phone alarm app that sensed your sleep pattern by your HR and would wake you at the lightest point of sleep within a certain time window, so you wouldn't be dragged from a very deep sleep suddenly.

Have a cup of tea or coffee prepared next to the kettle the night before. Simple but so appreciated every morning when I just have to boil the kettle!

Don't EVER hit snooze.get up quickly once it's time to get up or you are just prolonging the inevitable and making you more grumpy/tired fighting need to rise.
Dont stay up too late,in time you can work out what's a good bedtime for you to enable refreshed feeling earlier in the day
Don't go from bed to sofa and just sit there.the temptation to lay down will hit if you feel tired!
I am most definitely a morning person.i used get up at 6 til I had kids and one was a regular 5-530 riser.shes 11 now but I often get up 530 still.by time kids leave for school I will got loads done and whilst I power down earlier than other people I do find my days are more productive

I don't see the benefit tbh. Most people are chronically sleep deprived so staying in bed longer is good. I aim to get up 15 mins before my kids and the thought of tea is what gets me out of bed.

Not sure I could sleep at 9.30pm...I naturally look at my clock about 10.30 and think I should get ready for bed, but I'm not actually tired...I might read or something til about 11
