Weirdest Thing Found In Your Garden

Inspired by a pre Christmas thread about Wonky Candles and a poster making a water feature out of a “minge” found in her garden.
I found male gay porn magazines ( in early 1990s ) and on a different occasion money ( 2 £20 notes , I think they were mine , to be fair , caught up in some till receipts for recycling bin )
I am sure Mumsnetters can better this !

A rose.

Not interesting in itself. They're quite common things to find in gardens, but this one was a single red one wrapped in cellophane. The sort a husband gets his wife from the garage to say sorry for getting black shoe polish on the 'special occasions' tablecloth. It was the day after a storm.

Digging in my vegetable garden I found part of a pre-Roman bronze dish which would have been about 40cm across before it broke. It was followed later by Victorian glass buttons, old coins, poison bottles, metal from harness and tiny horseshoes, maybe for a donkey?

I never found a minge though. Perhaps I would struggle to recognise one anyway.

A terrapin. A real, live terrapin. Honestly just appeared one day, must have been dropped by something passing through.

A nest of three baby hedgehogs whose spines were still under the skin

Fossils (ammonites) and the roof section of a Land Rover.

A buried ( 2 foot down ) massive double Belfast sink and underneath that an even older earthenware trough. Also a dog skeleton !

A ferret. It's the fastest I've seen DH run, he was terrified and tucked his trousers into his socks when he went back out in the garden some time later

Anyone who lives in my dgm's old house may well dig up 2 ddogs, 3 dcats, 3 pet rats, a Guinea pig and a Robin one naughty dcat brought in one Christmas day

An egg. A whole raw egg. I know it was raw as the dog attacked it.

I can't recall finding anything weird, but if anyone digs up the patio that my, then, DP and I had laid in our, then, back garden 35 years ago they'll find one of my moccasins underneath!

Short story. XP and his mate laid the patio while I was out for the day - they thought it would be funny to put one of my moccasins underneath the slabs

I once picked up a large thick piece of wood that had laid there since we bought the house.

Benneath was this round spherical grey thing growing out of the ground. I touched it and it popped and turned to dust. Like a mummy!

The weirdest thing was that it made a loud noise. I can’t describe it as anything else but a large queef.

A unicorn

Well, a dinner bell shaped like a unicorn
It was buried, which was odd, but cleaned up nicely, and now gets used on the daily

Our ancient dry stone wall boundary collapsed in a storm, inside it were animal skulls and antique glass bottles. Very woo woo.

Young man, a pair of skiddy male underpants, a lego man, a ceramic English Heritage logo and at the allotment fish paste glass jars and a glass perfume bottle top.

Not unusual but it gave me a shock, I picked up a big pile of leaves and found the it contained the biggest hedgehog I've ever seen! It was huge! I clearly woke it up and so buried him under a big pile of leaves in the corner.

Neumanne that's a type of fungus, used to see them a lot in the woods

I found half a pelvis and a whole leg of goodness knows what this morning. It looked large dog sized - I’m hoping a fox dug it up and left it as a gift as all other possibilities are too grim to consider. It was quite grubby so it could well have been someone’s pet laid to rest.

When I was 5 I found a snake skin, which was infinitely cooler. We lived in Cyprus at the time and it was a whopper.

Random half-chewed apples and pears. Can only presume it was a fox as DCAT doesn't have any need for extra fibre AFAIK.

Re foxes: also found a bird wing sticking out of a flower bed .
It was a whole bird , buried for later. ( I assume )

Foxes do stash food apparently. DH found a headless squirrel under the car one morning and parked over the top of it when he returned to see what would happen. It was gone the next morning and we haven’t been overrun by zombie squirrels since so assume it was eaten by one of our foxes.
