Sorry, very boring question, but have just found out that my sons' October half term holidays do not coincide, They are go to school in different, but neighbouring boroughs and it seems ridiculous that their holidays are not the same.

When are yours?

Toomanycats99 · 09/01/2019 17:05

Both start Monday 21st but one has a 2 week half term

We have that as well Toomany so basically I have children off for 3 weeks! DS1 doesn't break up until 25th.

28th October. Great for us as we get cheaper holidays as England half terms are iften different to ours.

TwigTheWonderKid · 09/01/2019 17:43

You may be surprised Starlight, those that I've looked at are cheaper the previous week...

Ours is always the last full week of October

TulipsInbloom1 · 09/01/2019 18:50

Kids are a week before dh (he is a TA). It's a bloody pita as we only have term time childcare. I've taken a weeks leave which is also a pita as it's be better spent as a whole family.

Ours is Newcastle/Gateshead boroughs.

JumpersForGoalposts · 09/01/2019 18:53

Break up Fri 18th October, return Mon 4th November.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 09/01/2019 18:54

Last October my son had had a different half term holiday to me (I work in a school). The thing is, so many people have called for holiday dates to be staggered as they thought it would bring prices down but I don’t think people really thought about what would happen in different schools. Schools even in the same borough now often have different holiday dates. My school has different dates to our nearest secondary school and we are both in the same borough.

Really depends where you look and what you want.

Im off to Center Parcs in feb and i paid £329 for 4 nights. Previous week was over £800. Booked it 16 months ago

Starlight90 · 09/01/2019 22:29
