The worst one we stayed in had locked cabinets in rooms (not visible on photos) full or ornaments, and lots of dust everywhere.

Broken furniture, seats for 10 people in the “spacious sitting room“ for a house sleeping 25, no other sitting space. Bathrooms without mirrors. One towel per room (some rooms with 4 beds). Broken appliances. Cheap bobbly sheets, cheap lumpy mattresses. Worst misuse of the word luxury ever.

Black and white TV. Spiders everywhere. It rained non stop, so damp all over. The back step to the garden was lethally slippery, especially as it rained all the time. The sheets felt damp, the towels never dried, it was cold and utterly miserable.

We abandoned it and came home early unsurprisingly.

A place that had obviously been the home of an elderly person, with no renovations done - mismatched cutlery, crockery, furnishings, ancient shower. And the cupboards were entirely empty, no welcome pack of tea/coffee/sugar (despite kitchen storage jars clearly labelled with same), not even salt and pepper. Glad it was only for the weekend.

Black molds on the pillows, whole place smelt damp and unaired, dog poo on the patio, just generally unclean and uncared for.

We haven't stayed anywhere truly awful, although I didn't care for the one where the owner wouldn't let us leave until she'd checked everything; she literally counted the teaspoons

A very cheap and very grotty Airbnb in Pembrokeshire. The only bad Airbnb experience I've had. Perhaps our own fault, should have paid more. Thank God it was just an overnight booking.
Dirty, no comfortable seating, bed on mezzanine that was downright dangerous. Soap in the bath room had been used and had hairs on, boak!
We ate food from the containers they were microwaved in, slept in our clothes and left without showering.
I still shudder when I think about it.

Dirty sinks and toilets, not enough seats in the living room, nor the dining area, broken handle on the frying pan, no lampshades, "wire sculptures" made from coat hangers hanging from the light fittings, dirty frayed towels. The family who owned it had stuffed all their coats, shoes and clothes in the cupboards and it was like they'd hastily exited their house before our arrival leaving everything scattered there. We complained to the agent and the owner said we'd insulted her and her children as it was their family home that they were so generously sharing with us. We couldn't get her to see our point of view at all.
