Cradle cap help!!

My son has cradle cap. It doesn't look that bad as I keep removing it but it just returns immediately. I can get it all off on an evening with oil and a brush then I shampoo with dentinox every few days but it's back the next morning and his head feels all scabby. His head feels damp most of the time, like it's constantly seeping oils.

So removing isn't the problem but can anyone advise on how I can stop it returning so quickly?

DD had it terribly. What worked was the Dentinox shampoo daily and the Pourty cradle cap brush.

Hi, how old is your ds? Both my kids had pretty bad cradle cap untill they were a few years old im afraid! Even when they had full heads of hair. Some kids are just prone to oily scalps.
I've heard good things about Aqueous Cream for cradle cap? Mine are both grown now so not tried it im afraid!

I've ordered the brush. Thanks for the tip EssentialHummus

He's 8 weeks Sliceofkate. I've tried Vaseline, baby oil and epiderm which I think is an aqueous cream and they seem to help soften it. Nothing keeps it away though.

Will try that shampoo Mother if the dentinox doesn't work. We've only had it a week so will give it more of a chance.

I felt great last night as had removed it all but it looks like I had done nothing come this morning.

I don't even think others would notice as it's not thick but it feels so crusty. If I don't keep on top of it I think it will get out of control but then I wonder if I'm making it worse by constantly trying to remove it.

We had the same problem. Then saw Aveeno body and hair wash recommended so we used that. It disappeared overnight and has never returned!

Cover head in coconut oil - really slap it on, and leave it for 30 min or so. Then use a tangle teezer (or I think the cradle cap brush mentioned above is similar) and gently massage the head in circular motions and then brush through any hair to get the scabs out. Then wash off with gentle shampoo (I really like the Burt’s Bees one). That solved DD’s cradle cap in one go after struggling with it for weeks.

Oh, and I would use Mustela over Dentinox if you need treatment shampoo too as it has an antifungal (Climbazole) in it, whereas as far as I can see Dentinox doesn’t.

We tried every lotion and potion on the market with dd, what finally worked was Pond's cold cream. Can't even remember who recommended it. I guess there's no one size fits all solution, everyone has different skin so the same thing won't work for every baby. Trial and error!

We use coconut oil to soften then brush
My DC is slowly growing out of it
I personally would stick to coconut oil or the shampoo
But too many products might mess up the oil production and make it worse

Thanks for all the recommendations. There's almost too many - I don't know where to start!!
