Anyone taking Zopiclone at the moment?

My GP's last resort with me, but only 5 prescribed.

Would welcome any opinions

TIA

I've been on it off and on for years. No bad experiences but do use it sparingly as possible as it is possible to form dependence.
Takes about half an hour to kick in for me, and makes me prone to random babbling before I conk out. Sleep for about 6-7 solid hours though.

I've used it very occasionally to break a cycle of poor sleep/insomnia.
To be honest the psychological effect of knowing I have it in the house is enough to get me off to sleep! To be used very sparingly.

I took a very low dose when I had a bad case of post natal insomnia. I hadn't slept in 4 days when I went crying to the drs. I was given 3. 5 mg as I was breast feeding and it was amazing! It takes half an hour to kick in properly and it had me gone in minutes. I took a months worth over about three months and it sorted me out.

I took them for a good while. They helped, and the only side effect I had was a bad taste in my mouth, and a very dry mouth. I would gradually get used to them, though, and their effect would lessen very quickly. I had a monthly prescription, and it lasted me three weeks usually, as I needed to take more in order to get the same effect very fast. Then of course the fourth week with hardly any sleep.

Oh, I think I was on 7.5mg a night at the time? My insomnia was very bad then, though, and affecting me in a bad way.

I keep some in the cupboard. 7.5 and a half a tablet means sleeping through.

I was prescribed a few at a time like you. I had really bad anxiety a few years ago. I found them Ok, if I took one at 10pm I would sleep through until 6. It just broke up the horrible cycle of not sleeping/waking in the middle of the night. I found I'd have a dry mouth for a day or so afterwards. I only took them occasionally so couldn't say if they're addictive. I've still got a few just in case but not taken for years now thank goodness.

What is that waking in the middle of the night all about? Awake 4.30 - 6.30 this morning. Trying not to take sleep aids but nothing else helps.
