What to do with Christmas nice food that's still in the house....?

I need to lose about 3 stone - my husband needs to lose 2.

We've got peanuts, crisps, mince pies and chocolate in the house bought to feed others over Christmas or given to us as presents.

No food banks where we are.

My workplace won't thank my bringing any of it in. Can get rid of some of it at DH's work.

If you take it into work anyway, then I'm sure it'll go! Or keep them to feed guests throughout the next few months.

Or try olio

Freeze what you can, portion the rest out and eat in moderation, ask a friend or two if they'd like any as you and your husband are trying to lose weight.

Is any of it suitable to be put out as bird food ?

CatnissEverdene · 08/01/2019 16:31

Local church or homeless shelter?

PeridotCricket · 08/01/2019 16:41

Don't think the local birds would eat Thorntons...

Local church isn't a bad idea - I imagine they might have people they visit who would appreciate them.

Or a care home / hospital ward?

Dowser · 08/01/2019 17:30

Just have one thing a day as a treat
It’ll be fine

Genuine question, where do you live that there are no Food Banks? Every supermarket I go into has collecting points for Food Banks (except Lidl & Aldi).

I volunteer at a Food Bank & we currently have loads of post Christmas donations (including a half eaten box of chocolates Hmm).
