Drying mat for dish drainer?

We have a quartz worktop and a metal/coated drainer. The drainer is about 6 years old now and I have noticed slight rust staining on the quartz where the drainer sits.

I have scrubbed this with a sponge/scourer and it's still there.

So... How do I stop it happening and how can I remove the stain?

Ive no idea how to get it off sorry but my Mams got a quartz worktop and she has this. Works brilliantly. Bit spendy but worth it.

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp Yeah I'm thinking plastic is the way to go...

Bar keepers friends will shift the mark I think (Lakeland or John Lewis)

@cjt110 I’d say so. I had a fabric drying mat thing from Home Bargains and it was fab for one use but then sat about getting mildewy and rank. You’d need about 6 on rotation.

Yeah I'm thinking the same about mildewy rank mats..
