Looking at going as soon as the kids break up in April so around 7-8 April. But wondering if the weather will be ok?

When I went in April one year it was sunny and warm on the whole but with a couple of chillier days and some torrential rain. It was also chilly enough in the evenings that we needed jumpers on but still obviously warmer than the U.K.

My auntie who visited Cyprus loads says better to go in May, and the Larnaca side is warmer/nicer than the Paphos side- but im interested to hear other people's experiences.

East coast seems to be warmer. April I'd expect warm not hot, with potential colder nights.

We went at the beginning of April a few years ago. It was nice weather, warm enough for just a tshirt and possibly shorts rather than trousers but with the need for a light jacket if out in the evening.
We were in Paphos but not everything was open. Quite a few restaurants were still on their off season shut down or were literally just reopening. We were a few bar's/restaurant's first customers of the year without realising it. There were still enough places to go to though without any problem.
The sea and unheated outdoor pools were absolutely freezing though!

Probably the Canaries then for Easter for the sun

For the first time ever though we were able to go to the Valley of the Kings and have a proper look round without the risk of burning to a crisp or getting heat stroke! We were definately able to get out and about more in April compared to going in the middle of summer.
We went up the Trodos mountains and played in the snow at the very top (along with another English family) whilst the Cypriots stayed inside the warm restaurants. 😂

First two weeks of April about 12 years ago. Visited a village just outside of Paphos and had a villa with an unheated pool.

Pool - too cold for adults to swim in on first week. Kids still went in and son learned to swim, so it was a good holiday! Second week it was warm enough and we all used it.

Out and about in the day was nice and warm but the villa at night was cold. The marble stairs and tiled floors didnt help when the sun went down! We were seriously cold sleeping with "typical" cypriot bedding and the heaters were rubbish. Wished we had taken a hotel at this point!

In many ways its a nice part of the year to go but its very much shoulder season so be careful to book the right place!
