DD has always enjoyed playing games, a lot of the ones she's got she's getting a bit 'young' for her. She's nearly 7, our current favourite one is Sorry! and one she got for Christmas called Funny Bunny that she likes.

DS (7) loves the kids variants of monopoly (Mario, Mario Kart) and Minions Game of Life. Just got him Articulate (Kids version) which he likes but can't access all the vocab yet.
Also likes Pop and Drop Penguins

My nearly-7-year-old enjoys Port Royal, Dixit, Rhino Hero. He got Rat-a-tat Cat for Christmas. All these are more card-based than true 'board games'.

The New York version of Ticket to Ride is a proper board game, another Christmas acquisition in our family, and is much more suited to his attention span than other versions of the game.

Mousetrap, Enchanted Forest, Monopoly, and Hungry hippos!

Qwirkle and Othello. Both have simple rules but require brains to win.

Thanks I will have a look at those.

I have a 7 year old too she loves board games.

Her favourites at the moment are Junior Monopoly, Frustration and a cheap Verizon of Guess Who.

I got her Mousetrap for Christmas but it just falls apart.

My friend had "labyrinth" which we played over Christmas with her kids. It's nothing to do with the film , and was fun for adults and kids alike.

Labyrinth is so sound. We don't have it, but it was a favourite game with the kids when I was a play worker years ago.

Settlers of Catan! And poker.
