Soup maker... hot or cold liquid?

So I read the instructions and it says "add the liquid" No reference to whether it is to be hot or cold.

On the occassions I have added hot water soup has been... well - s(o)uper!

I added cold water after reading the instructions again and something online which referred to using only cold water.

Twice I've used with cold water and lentils have stuck.

Just read this on the Morphy Richards website:

It’s always best, and most efficient, to boil the water used for the stock or liquid addition just before adding it to the soup-maker. If you use water straight from the tap, you may find some vegetables aren’t quite cooked when the soup’s ready, especially if the vegetables are cumbersome or tough. Starting with hot stock gives it a better chance to add more flavour and taste.

So... hot or cold????

Well it says hot on the website, so obviously it's hot water

Sorry meant to add it says "Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the soup maker as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to sudden steaming."

It's not clear at all in the instructions so I can only guess it must be hot water as their tips say...

Depends on who makes the soupmaker. If it's Morphy Richards, go with their recommendation of hot.

Lentils will probably stick anyway, they're buggers for it. Invest in an appropriate scourer.

I always boil the water before adding it to the soup maker, as it saves the time the soup maker has to heat the water, to cook the veg. Never had a problem!

Miane · 08/01/2019 11:56

IVe always used cold and never had my lentils stick. I’ll have to try hot for comparison!

Celebelly · 08/01/2019 11:57

I always use hot!

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 08/01/2019 11:58

I always use hot because it cooks the veg/lentils or whatever than cold water.

It clearly says hot in the instructions so... Confused

It clearly says hot in the instructions so I know but people have said...."Ohhhh no, don't put hot water in it"
