Things sticking in my soup maker

First 2 times, went like a dream. Mainly veg with stock and one batch had lentils in.

Last night I thought I would make a soup using a packet mix for flavour (Chilli con carne) It stuck to the bottom. Several times. Turning the machine off. Causing me to get miffed and wonder wtf was going on 'til I googled it.

Made another soup this morning and some lentils stuck. Again, switching the machine off...

What am I doing wrong?

I think I remember reading you can't use packet mixes as they stick. No idea where I got that from though.

Has yours got a sauté function?

Is it the black and orange Morphy Richards soup maker?

If so, it's not you, it's the machine. Mine and my mum's did the same. There's a whole thread about it on their Facebook page about it too. Lots of people complaining about them cutting out. I don't know how they can keep selling them to be honest!

I found it worked best if i put everything in cold (eg stock), liquid first and chop everything as small as possible.

@WildFlower2019 That's rubbish Sad Yes it's the MR one. The compact version.

I wondered if adding oil would help?

Mine had to be sent back because it kept fusing all the electrics. Now have a Tefal one and it seems much better.
