Hi - after some advice.
Am struggling with my 6 yr olds behaviour and am thinking about asking social services for support - but worried about what might happen. My partner and I split back in march 18 due to domestic abuse - we have been in 1 room in a hostel for 2 months - I get no time to myself and I’m struggling. My sons language and behaviour is awful and I just can’t cope. Anyone had experience with social services?

Have you asked school for any help? The sendco and/or safeguarding officer might be able to put you in the right direction for some support. It might be an easier route than going direct to social services.

Sorry things are tough at the moment x

Where on the uk do you live. There is many services available within local areas to assist with behaviour management and parenting techniques etc. Social services can also give you advice over the phone of those services

I think you May be be better speaking to school in the first instance they may be able to access other support in the school which you can be involved in too.
I hope things improve for you soon. Flowers

Most councils run parenting programmes under early help within social care. You might then also get a family worker if be necessary.

My council run the incredible years programme. You can buy the book from Amazon.

Have you tried the home school link worker? Mine was great

TBH you sound in a challenging and stressful situation. Also speak to the school. Have you accessed any counselling for yourself or son?
