Luckily we had a hot summer last year , it was the first time I wasn't always cold....

Under 24 degrees I get a chill .
Most of my days consist of me wearing a blanket or dressing gown....

Any solutions ?
Should I just get a thermal vest

Yes get several. And merino. West lots of layers too. Lots of throws in the living room to wrap up in as I get really cold if I am not moving.

I am cold pretty constantly. Its commented on by other people too. Its not fun

Get your thyroid tested. That is one of the symptoms. I am cold a lot. Conversely, I get too hot very easily too. It isn't fun.

Me too. I love being in the car to get that direct heat. I layer, thermals, thick socks and usually wear a head band for my ears throughout the year even when it’s thought of as warm.

mamaduckbone · 07/01/2019 22:50

Yes, always. Doesn’t help that I’m in a house of hot-blooded beasties who constantly turn the heating down / open windows / frolic around in t-shirts and bare feet. Grr Angry

Me too. I've got a sub clinical thyroid apparently, but GP won't treat until it gets worse. On the other hand, the sweat pours off me if I take just a small amount of exercise (such as pushing the hoover around or walking for 5 mins).

My feet never warm up though. Even in the sauna. When it was boiling this summer I was still taking a hot water bottle to bed for my stupid dead, cold feet.

100% Merino leggings (go under jeans / also go under thermal lined walking trousers which are warmer than jeans) and merino top. Wool / cashmere jumpers. Also merino scarf, socks, gloves and hat. Lots of thin layers. Google how people dress for Arctic conditions (Norway / Sweden. Finland / Iceland) as they really know how to stay warm. Build up these clothes slowly as they are expensive but so worth it.

Electric wrap around throws are good.

InvisibleToEveryone · 07/01/2019 23:05

Yep!
That'll be me sat on the beach with my sister in a string bikini and me in jeans, jumper and a blanket and still cold!

LittleSpace · 07/01/2019 23:06

If merino is too expensive get fleece, but avoid anything cotton as this won't be warm.

Ezzie29 · 07/01/2019 23:07

I used to always be too hot, until I developed an under active thyroid and now I’m cold almost all the time! I’m also overweight so I do still get hot too but I’m now cold far more than I’m hot whjch up until a year or so ago I never would have imagined.

I considered starting a thread exactly like this the other day. I'm freezing all the time. Never used to be but I fear I'm turning into one of those old folk that has the house at such tropical temperatures you feel the need to visit in swimwear in mid February!
