Hey everyone.
Hope you all are doing good.
Basically its been a week that I’ve been noticing that my 11M old baby is acting some kinda weird. Although he’s perfectly fine but he’s banging his head everywhere like on his cot, on the walls. Or whatever is in his hand he starts banging it on his head. I feel very surprised because sometimes he’s hitting his head hard.
Anyone else noticed this kinda behavior.

Waiting for the replies
Many thanks x

Babies are weird. Maybe it is wondering about cause and effect. I wouldn't be concerned.

This is common behaviour in babies. There are a couple of reasons. They sometimes do this to distract them from teething pain or tiredness. and sometimes they do it because it’s a new sensation/thing they can do.

Normal unfortunately... It's best not to make too big a deal of it, otherwise they'll keep doing it for the reaction.. Try and distract or remove from the situation. It can be quite scary when the do things like that! DD used to bang her head on the back of her highchair at a similar age and when a little older, used to stick her fingers down her throat to try and choke herself! And then when I tried to tell her to stop, she'd just laugh at me Hmm She did grow out of both after a few(?) months.

My 13 month old does this she started doing it about the same age 11 months. At first she would do it a lot but we tend to ignore or distract her when she goes to do it and this seems to be working as she doesn't do it very often now.

Yes!!! My 11 month old DS has just started doing the exact same thing! He's shaking his head all over the place, rocking quite vigorously in his high hair so hitting head off the back of the chair and smacking his cups and toys off his head.
At least it seems to be relatively normal. Think I'll go for the distract and ignore technique.
