Looking to stay in Feb for 2 nights. Which do you prefer and why?

The Principal. By a long way!

MorningsEleven · 07/01/2019 18:45

The Principal used to be the Royal, got taken over a couple of years ago.

Most people still call it the station hotel.

PinkysEars · 07/01/2019 18:53

Yes, agree with PP, the Principal used to be the Royal. Do you mean the Mount Royale?

I was about to say, aren't they the same place?

PrivateParkin · 07/01/2019 18:54

I think they are one and the same?

ClashCityRocker · 07/01/2019 18:57

Do you mean the cedar court grand?

WardrobeInCrisis · 07/01/2019 21:23

Oh I assumed you meant the royale? Do you mean a different one?

Don't stay in the royale!

Overseasmom100 · 08/01/2019 10:30

The Principal (station hotel) is nice. Swimming pool, nice bar area, etc. It's a couple of years since I stayed there though.

Overseasmom100 · 08/01/2019 10:47

The grand is nicer than the principal imo

Walkerbean16 · 08/01/2019 10:56

The Grand is amazing, the principal is nice but not really special.

Pootles34 · 08/01/2019 11:00

The spa at the grand wasn't amazing. The treatment was wonderful, and everything is very shiny and new, but there wasn't any space to relax - just a small pool, with steam room and sauna and jacuzzi. I like to have lots of nice comfy chairs to read my book - it isn't there.

Rooms are lovely there, but so are the rooms at the Principal - they've very good with kids if you're taking any, really cute little child sized dressing gowns and lots of baby toiletries!
