Small Charity Gift

Hi

My DS 11 found £20 in October and handed it in to the police and as it was not claimed they gave it back to him.

He would like to give it to a rescue charity but has since suggested buying supplies (tea, coffee, biscuits) and taking to the local station for the volunteers who are out in all weather this time of year. WWYD? Are these places inundated with beverages and snacks from people this time of year?

Thanks

That sounds like a lovely idea. With the purse strings tightening volunteers are getting less and less and doing more. It's often the staff who buy the tea and coffee/Xmas gifts etc from their own pocket. I am sure they would really appreciate that.
Or another option would be to buy food for the animals/blankets, etc?

Hello. Thank you for your reply. It's not an animal rescue service, it saves people in danger. Good point about them funding everything themselves, sad isn't it when they give up their own time.

For animals however we will be visiting our local RSPCA to drop off a cat bed and scratch pole and unacceptable Christmas treats that our ungrateful moggie just keeps sneering at ..... and perhaps drop off the cat also! (Joking)

I realize it's not a significant amount of money but he would like it to go to the best use.

Oldspeckledhen , (don't know how to tag) but I'm sorry you have had a crap day and I hope it gets better X. I will take the unanimous advice and drop off a box of supplies, thank you both.

Ah yes like mountain rescue type of thing? I am sure they would love the tea and coffee. Maybe some hot chocolate too?

Yes very similar. You have all agreed with him so that is what we shall do. I suppose it was never my decision anyway.
Thanks all x
