It's the New Year. I would like to lose some weight. I have also started a new job and want to make it a success. But I am feeling completely demotivated. Does anyone have any tips for giving myself a massive kick up the arse?

Well use SMART. How much weight? How are you measuring it - Inches or pounds? Is that realistic but still a challenge? When do you want to lose it by?

Thanks, redexpat. I would like to lose around 10 lbs - although I don't tend to weigh myself. I would like to fit back into my size 10 jeans, (I'm a size 12 at the moment). That is my measurement - not very technical!

I hadn't considered how fast I wanted to lose it by. I suppose 1 - 2 lbs per week would be great.

I do exercise every day (I run), so am fit. I just eat too much. And my alcohol intake over the past few weeks has been A LOT, so I am cutting that out for a while.
