Potty training advice please!

DD is almost 2 years old. She's been showing the signs of potty readiness for a while - her brother is only a year older so she watched him learn all about it.

I put her in pants on Friday and she had two days of being dry and consistently using the potty. She even did a poo in the potty on Saturday evening!

She had a couple of accidents yesterday and all pees were prompted by me. She got up this morning and had a wee but now she's been running round with her brother in wet pants and didn't even tell me.

Does it sound like she's ready?
Am I pushing her too soon?
Should I put her back in nappies and try again in a month or so?

It sounds like she’s got the idea so I’d persevere if I were you. I’d take off her pants to make it as easy as possible for her to independently wee on the potty when she needs to go. She might not have much notice herself so might not have time to let you know.

Personally the oh crap method worked really well for my DS (2.5 at time of going dry) so I’d recommend that.

Thanks for the reply. We persevered and she did better throughout the day. She even asked for her potty while we were at a friend's house. She had a two accidents and did a poo in the potty again.

I think she's doing ok. She just doesn't seem to be taking to it as naturally as DS did (I know we shouldn't compare).

I did a sticker chart and she goes mad for stickers so that might've helped!

I've had recommendations about the oh crap book but I feel like by the time I've bought it and read it we won't need it!! ... that's optimism!
