Current sharing a hospital bed with my poorly two year old. Tell me something interesting.

My wee girl has been admitted due to tummy pains and possible dehydration due to being sick since 3 o'clock this morning.

She's fast asleep and snoring but I am wide awake. Can you tell me something interesting that I might not know to keep me entertained until our next check up in an hour?

Read the embarrassing toddler moments thread currently on AIBU. Don’t know how to link sorry. Hope she is feeling better soon Flowers

In america the cost of just a 1 day stay in a hospital will probably total over $2000 (more depending on exams, scans, treatment, etc). If you have health insurance (not everyone does!) it will probably have a set co-pay that you will have to pay. I am in awe of the fact we have the NHS.

I hope your dd feels better soon and you manage to get some sleep

Ladybower Reservoir basically has a giant plughole the water can go down, as well as a flooded village at the bottom.

Hope your little one is feeling better soon. Drum roll please for a (not so) interesting fact..... In Switzerland it is illegal to own just one guinea pig. Night both.

It rains more in Sydney than in London.

Hope your dd's better soon.

The egg which made you (assuming you are a woman) was formed in your mother’s ovaries when she was a foetus in your grandmother’s womb.

Due to the lack of an "r" sound in Japanese, Ronald McDonald is called Donald McDonald

In prehistoric times there were penguins that were 6ft tall, and dragonflies with a 5ft wingspan

There was a lake in the dales, well it i still there, the locals told tales of a village being flooded to make the lake.

There was no history of the lake being man made.

In the 1970s there was some building work done that partially drained the lake, and it uncovered a neolithic settlement.

Folk history passed word of mouth, down the generations had been right, just much older than people thought.

In another history 'interesting fact', during the plague the villagers of Eyam cut themselves off until the plague had passed. No one at the time knew why some people got the plague and others didn't eg in one house the mother was not ill but her husband and children all died.

Modern day blood tests on the descendents show many have a natural immunity to plague.

Thank you so much everyone. I managed to doze off in the end. We're both home now and have had a sleepy lazy day.
