Eternity ring

My Dp got me an eternity ring, I love it.
I would love to surprise him with one too but I can't seem to find anything similar online. I have googled it and apparently men's rings are called promise rings when you are not engaged or married but when I google this it comes up with wedding rings. I'm so confused. Can anyone help?!

I was under the impression eternity rings were for couples who had a child together; it's what I got mine for after our wedding. I now wear all 3 rings on my ring finger.

Might a claddagh ring be an alternative?

Could you just get him a very fine band, maybe woven/patterned? I seem to recall a make called clogaigh (sp?) Which is Welsh gold and different colours. I didn't know about it symbolizing having a child, I wear an eternity ring that DP bought me for my 30th on my ring finger. I thought it meant that I am not married but commited.

I don't think I have an eternity ring but I do buy myself a lot of rings with Dh's money and I've developed a love for buying rings off etsy. They have some really beautiful and unique ones for both sexes.

My eternity ring was given in the traditional way after the birth of our first child. I’m not sure there is a male equivalent.
