Ways to help anxiety?

I posted this in AIBU but then thought it was more suited to chat.

I've been plagued by it for 2 years since some trauma in my life. I tried therapy and it did help but I felt uncomfortable at it so stopped after two sessions.

I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to make it better? Any lifestyle adjustments or foods or anything?

Fair few posts on this knocking around at the momentSmile must be the time of year.

I find cbt helpful but easy to slip and not apply it.

I am trying:

Yoga
Breathing (my Fitbit has relaxation breathing on it which is useful)
Running/walking outside
More general physical activity
Beta blockers
Talking to people (my poor dh and dm mostly)
Better diet - GP recommended looking at gut health so I've made my own yoghurt today!
I've had blood tests to check no physical issues
Magnesium supplements
Iron and vit d (am often borderline deficient)
Rest and being a bit more centred on myself. Find this hardest.

V early days but in comparison to just before Christmas when I could barely function I feel better or at least able to try the things above rather than being totally broken.

Definitely all of the above♥️ I am also a big sufferer and definitely agree it's this time of year too. Anything like me I have no motivation to do anything other than put my pjs on straight from work and watch tv!! I have learnt to accept these days though and enjoy them and take the energetic hours/days as they come too!
Also try: rescue remedy, St. John's wort, ginkgo biloba and camomile tea before bed with the magnesium
Hope something works for you X

Also suffering. Feeling tired today after rubbish sleep last night.

I take propanalol usually but hadn’t for a while, so ive started those again today. Mindfulness and yoga help too. I’ve booked a gym class for tomorrow night and I’m definitely trying to eat a lot better. So sick of feeling this way, ive always suffered but never had panic attacks before. They’re fun.

Agree that the time of year won’t be helping either.

You need to stick at the therapy or try a different kind. Ideally trauma focused therapy. It is hard work but it's the only way forward.

There are other ways of managing anxiety but if it's a result of trauma and you don't address that, everything else is just a sticking plaster.
