Pleasantly surprised! Gregg's vegan sausage roll.

Anyone tried one of these yet? I usually get myself a vegetable bake from Greggs,but today,as is often the case on a Sunday,they'd run out. So I thought I'd try one of these instead. I will be totally honest,I was expecting to be rather indifferent to it,at best. But I actually really liked it. Will definitely buy again.

I would add that I'm not much of a meat eater, (never eat beef,lamb or pork,only chicken and fish) and I can honestly say I only eat chicken or fish about 2 - 3 times per week,so I'm pretty open minded when it comes to vegetarian and vegan products.

I like Greggs stuff, reasonable price, consistent quality and very tasty.

What is it made of - is it a kind of fake meat or a totally different filling (lentils etc)?

I liked it too. Haven’t eaten meat in about 2 years though.

I normally like quorn escalopes and their peppered steaks but if the meat substitute is too meaty I really don't like it looking at you vile asda pulled pork burgers!

OMG! Is it quorn? I tried some quorn escalope things a couple of years ago,that my DD was having for dinner,and hated them! What a revelation.

Quorn is definitely better than it used to be, although it’s not all vegan.

I had one yesterday, it was lovely. They had run out before 9am today though, the bastards. In protest I went to the Pound Bakery instead.

It’s a bespoke quorn recipe so I imagine it’s fully vegan

Quorn are bringing out more and more vegan products thank goodness. Now if someone can just invent a vegan cheese that doesn't smell like sick...

I had one on Saturday and thought it was lovely. I have been veggie for 20 years and I like there are more and more options.
