Hi all,

I was wondering how you all arrange handover between yourself and your ex partners.

Due to historical domestic violence I do not feel comfortable being on my own at handovers so I have to get my partner or family members to come with me. I used to share the drops and pick up with somebody with me but people feel that I should make my ex partner do all the pick up.

I was just curious if anybody else shares travelling or if your ex partners do this?

Thanks

There aren’t any hard and fast rules. Does he live far away?

Hi, no it's around 10 minute drive away.

How old are the children. Ex comes to the house but text from the car. Kids go out to him and he drops them back from the car

Personally I think he should actually come to the door. And show the children we can be civilised.

Of course your situation is more complicated due to dv.

My little one is 4 years old. I am mainly curious how other parents manage Hand over whether I would be unfair to ask for him to do drop off and pick up.

With a volatile situation, I would do whatever keeps things calmer for the children.
