Currently staying at a friends house 4 hours drive away. Drove up today and then had drinks with her and her friends, mostly drank a gin and Prosecco cocktail and ate a lot of food. Went up to bed about an hour ago (she’s still got people round who are still listening to music downstairs) I started feeling really sick so ran to the bathroom and was really sick :( I felt a tiny bit better after but really don’t feel that drunk so am not sure it’s alcohol?! I’m terrified I’ve got a bug and I’m ages away from home, currently locked in the only bathroom in the house, just wish I was back home but god knows how that’s going to happen seeing as dp has overdone it tonight and won’t be sober enough to drive for ages!

Sorry this is so long and I don’t even know why I’m posting but anyone got any stories to make me feel better? Sad

Just to add I’m an emetephobe so this is my worst nightmare

Me! Hello, I’m awake too.

Had norovirus all night which brings with it horrendous insomnia. Stopped vomiting but can’t wait for daylight.

Youre not alone & just keep telling yourself it’ll pass.

Big hugs x

Thanks Handhold here OP - I'm sure you just overindulged on the booze/food front and it's not a bug! Concentrate on sipping some water, relaxing in bed, getting a bit of sleep and going home when you feel better.

maldivemoment · 06/01/2019 04:39

Oh flip. Just realised that previous message did absolutely nothing to make you feel better! Apologies.

If it helps I’m also emetephobe but I find dreading being sick/vomiting is actually worse than the experience itself. I find that dread most debilitating.
You’ll be okay my lovely. X

SuzieAndBess · 06/01/2019 04:39

I always used to have to stay at friends when I went out as I lived there n a different town. Mostly it was fine but sometimes I hated it. But before you know it you’ll be on the road and home.

I’m in the bathroom with the shower on trying to clear DD’s blocked nose. She sounds awful!

Backtothelist · 06/01/2019 04:40

Oh no Sad
I’m awake because I just can’t sleep which is bad enough.
You must be feeling rotten but probably the worst is over. Hopefully you will get a few hours rest at least and DP can get you home early in the morning

I've been up every hour with a poorly baby, have basically given up on sleep now as I can't work out what's up, she's asleep on me now. I'm sure it's just a bug which will pass, there's a 24h sickness bug going around so hopefully in not too long you will feel better.

LostStars39 · 06/01/2019 04:50

Thank you everyone! I’ve been sick again and am currently lying in the bathroom on a bath mat with a towel over me to keep me warm. Of all the nights for this to happen, I could cry!

I'm awake for no good reason at all. Work is stressful, kids are stressful, DH is stressed at his job and I'm worried that the balls im juggling are all going to collapse in a big heap of awfulness very soon. Hope you feel better soon x

Emelene · 06/01/2019 04:53

I'm up with my 8 week old. I hope you feel better soon xxx

maldivemoment · 06/01/2019 04:54

Given that’s it’s ridiculous o’clock & I’m assuming no one in the house is up, we’ll all hold your hand. I was you a few hours ago so I know how lonely it feels.
C’mon. Give me your hand... x

RowenaFlower · 06/01/2019 04:58

I’ve jarred my shoulder so in pain and can’t get comfy, waiting for painkillers to hopefully kick in. Sleep is so precious and there’s nothing to make you feel sorrier for yourself than not being able to get enough!
Stay strong people, hopefully these situations are temporary and better nights are to come.

Strugglingonagain · 06/01/2019 05:09

Hope you feel better soon x

Innocentinfamy · 06/01/2019 05:14

Fellow emetophobe here!

Agree 100% with maldive the dread is absolutely worse than the deed itself

I get myself so worked up trying not to vom that I end up hyperventilating

Then once it gets to the point of no return, I accept the inevitable & it's a relief to finally get it over & done with

Plenty of sympathy & a back rub for you op Flowers

Spanielmadness · 06/01/2019 05:25

I’ve left my EA, controlling ex - for the last time, this time.

I’m lying awake going over everything and kind of wondering what happened to me the last few years and how I allowed it to happen.
I also feel tentatively optimistic that I can live free from fear again, as I was before I knew him.

comeasyouare1 · 06/01/2019 05:32

Morning @LostStars39 I'm also an emetophobe too, I feel your pain. Currently awake due to jet lag. Hope you feel better soon x

Dowser · 06/01/2019 07:27

Too late now..but could you have searched for a bucket downstairs and put some disinfectant in and left it near your bed along with a glass of water

Dowser · 06/01/2019 07:28

Hope you are sleeping

LostStars39 · 06/01/2019 20:46

Thank you so much everyone, you honestly did calm me down and I eventually managed to go to bed and sleep for a bit. Finally back home and about to go to bed!
I hope all of you are okay ❤️ Xx
