Blocked ear

I've been using otex ear drops for 6 days day and night but I still can't hear out of my ear.
Is there anything more effective or should I try and see a nurse now? Any help gratefully appreciated

Have you tried sterimar nasal spray? It might be something further down than Otex can get? I'd make an appointment with the nurse though.

Go and see a doctor/nurse. Could you have got something stuck down there?

So this happened to DP the other day- straight to the pharmacy and got the otex combi pack (it includes a little rubber ball with a spout)

Flush your ear out with cool clean water - it’ll take a few times to get it out but be persistent! you should have seen what came out of DP’s 🤢 it was no wonder he hadn’t been able to hear!

It’s the best way to deal with it and only way to shift a big blocked lump of wax quickly xx

Definitely a doc/nurse appointment is now needed. I had this last year and it drove me up the wall for almost 2 weeks with me trying a couple of over the counter treatments to no avail. I saw the doctor and he gave me an antibiotic ear spray which helped almost instantly. I know you shouldn’t poke about with cotton buds, but I kept getting these brown bits coming out of my ear so I had a bit of a rummage with one (probably best not to follow my lead on this Blush) and a massive brown clump of god knows what came out 🤮 instant relief though!

I used olive oil drops for 2 weeks before I had an appointment. 2 days before: my ears cleared up and I cancelled my appointment. A year later I’m still having on/off again ear blockages. Book the appointment now and get it sorted.

DO NOT RUMMAGE!

I've just been having ear issues and apparently managed to stretch my eardrum by rummaging!

My DS has this alot and we do menthol hot towels. However if it is dragging on it may be time for a visit to the GP/Nurse. If you still cant hear there is something going on...although be prepared to be told its a virus.... that is the standard.

Thank you all the replies. I will try and get an appointment fingers crossed as yes it's definitely driving me up the wall now.
I will look into the other items for if I'm unfortunately stuck again
Thanks again
