Dun laoghaire or malhide?

Anyone that knows Dublin?

If you wanted a nice chilled day out with teen tomorrow. Walk, Sunday lunch, shops, maybe amusements? Travelling from centres of Dublin where is nicer?

Also any cool places for dinner tonight?

Both have plus points.

Malahide is on the DART line (as is Dun Laoghaire) and is more compact (I think) than DL. There are lovely restaurants and pubs in Malahide, fewer pubs in DL. You can walk the pier in Dun Laoghaire. There is the shopping centre in Dun Laoghaire but boutique shops in Malahide.

It really comes down to personal choice.

Enjoy your afternoon tomorrow whichever location you decide.

Dun Laoghaire for me. Always liked it.

Dinner tonight? Depends if you're in the city centre or in one of the suburbs and your budget. There may be someone along who can recommend a restaurant for you.

As mentioned Dun Laoghaire is on the DART line. You could have lunch there. If you are after amusements you could then hop back on DART to Bray. You could have a nice walk along the seafront and there is an amusement arcade too.

Both similar in that they both have a pier to walk along and a small market.

Restaurants in Malahide much better IMO (lots of fish) but will need to book, fish shack, brass monkey both good and bistro style. If you go to Dun Laoghaire, Haddington House do good pizzas with a view.

Dinner city center tonight? Are you catering to a teen or something nicer? Temple Bar has Thunder Road cafe, Luigi Malone’s (Italian - pizza for teen etc). For more adult dining Brasserie 66 is nice.

Personally I'd go for a nice walk in either malahide or Dun Laoghaire then head back to city for dinner.

Coppinger Row - good irish food busy and nice atmosphere
777 - excellent Mexican and margaritas, can't book but go early put down name and gave a drink locally
Fade st - big restaurant with bar and brasserie should have availability even last minute
Sophie's - great pizzas as well as more sophisticated mains
Peplos - good traditional italian

Just wondering where you ended up going for food and if you decided to go to Malahide or to Dun Laoghaire or somewhere entirely different.
