Where can I buy a ruddy great big PE/Gym Bag from?

Needs to fit a sodding enormous Teenagers Hoody, size 11 trainers, jogging bottoms and shirt or shorts?

Has to ideally be gym sack style to be carried along with his rucksack.

Would prefer online as lucked out in stores so far and online rarely put sizes on.

Any advice on what other secondary school kids are using?

Hmm, more likely to be hold-all style but I would look for ones which are branded for rugby, cricket or martial arts as they need to need a lot of equipment and therefore be generous ie Canterbury, Kooga, Samurai

Good plan, that gives me something to start searching more efficiently already.

@HoneyDragon I read that as teenager, hoodie etc Grin TBF if yours is as testing as mine I wouldn't blame you for wanting to stuff him in a bag GrinGrinWink

Grin I’d be fibbing if I said it hadn’t crossed my mind whilst hunting.

Look at the under armour ones

Well made lots of pockets for extras solid and water proof

FreshlyWashed · 05/01/2019 13:49

Fee just use a holdall. Nylon so supper-light, washable and holds... erm.. all

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 05/01/2019 13:49

I got my sons off eBay. It's a Liverpool FC one (other teams are available).

It's huge. He now uses to take his stuff to his dads for visits. Pair of trainers, three pairs of jeans, three hoodies, underwear and usually his laptop. I bought it when he started year 9 (age 14) and he's 17 now. Still going strong.

FreshlyWashed · 05/01/2019 13:50

Fee??? Sorry. We Blush

FreshlyWashed · 05/01/2019 13:52

Oh. And supper.

Marvellous

A sports shop.
Sports Direct or JD Sports.
I am quite surprised you couldn't think to go to a sports shop to buy a sports bag!!
(sorry - I am in a bit of a grump today so might be sounding like a bit of a cow!!)

AtleastitsnotMonday · 05/01/2019 14:51

Swim bags designed to carry training equipment like floats, fins, etc are like big gym sacks. Something like this

HoneyDragon · 05/01/2019 16:03

I haven’t been in a Sports direct yet, might try tomorrow to get to the nearest one. I did do JD sports but they are all small in the sack style. They are all the sports shops we have in the vicinity unless you count equestrian ones.

It just seemed weird not to be able to find a large one anymore.

How about Decathlon? Good range of stuff and good value.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/01/2019 18:20

@HoneyDragon - ds2 used to be a keen cricketer (he’s switched allegiance to hockey) and still has his cricket bag - frankly it is big enough to fit a young teenager in, if they scrunched up a bit.

He uses it when he comes home, to bring all his laundry, and I think it holds at least two full loads, maybe three!

LadyFairfaxSake · 05/01/2019 18:33

Try a black deployment bag from your local army surplus store - 125 litre capacity, holdall handles and shoulder straps that fold away if not required. Price around £30.

HoneyDragon · 05/01/2019 18:41

*note for future self. Do not buy child bag big enough to put laundry in.

I thought about an army surplus yomping bag but that will apparently be too big. I’ve shown ds the options on here and he was thrilled with the Arena bag @Atleastitsnotmonday linked too Thanks. He found it cheaper on Wiggle and Amazon and has ordered it. He says it will sit next to his back pack nicely Smile
