Looking for a house sitter for the Feb half term week. They’d only need to about an hours actual work a day - feeding chickens, collecting eggs, feeding rabbits, feeding cat and changing its litter and water. I’d like them to be in the actual house for around 2-3 hours during the day as well as at night as cat is only a baby.
I thought we could advertise locally and pay £10-£20 per day. Is that reasonable? It doesn’t seem much but they’d get accommodation and only an hours work.
My dm is insistent I should get someone to pay me for them to be here! Before we moved in this house was a holiday let that went for £1500 per week during school holidays (very touristy area). But asking anyone to pay anything feels like taking the piss a bit and I’m not convinced someone paying me would necessarily then feel they had to do the animal looking after bit quite as seriously. My dm always gets someone to pay her to stay at hers when she’s away but all she asks them to do is water her plants.
Also can anyone recommend any housesitting websites to advertise on? Everything seems to be AirBandB or something people wanting a full staff for their country estate.
Thanks so much!
