Lights on topiary balls -Just for Christmas?

I’m taking down the decorations finally.

I have net lights over the topiary balls I have outside of the front door. I love them and am wondering if I could keep them for winter? Or are they very Christmassy and look silly in January?

Thoughts please Xmas Smile

I think they'd even work on a summer evening tbh. Pretty sure I've seen it done.

We keep the lights up all over the house all round (inside and not Christmas themed)

Fabulous! Thanks. I’ll stick with 2 replies Grin

I'll give you a third- I think they look really nice all year round!

Someone on our street has one of those light up fake tree things in the front garden all year round, looks lovely.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 04/01/2019 19:30

On a timer tho please (so they aren't on all night).

Hyggehygge · 04/01/2019 19:38

Fab! DPO - They are on a timer between 4 and 9? They aren’t bright really and we have a large drive so they don’t blind anyone.

Definite thumbs up from me then Grin

I think they look lovely, I've left up a floral wreath (not too christmassy) which also has little lights on it, your house, your choice and style :)

What a timely thread! I was just contemplating taking all the fairy lights from the lounge and stairs (put up especially for Christmas) and putting them all up in our bedroom.

In my head it would be a magical twinkling cosy grotto/bedroom but I fear in RL we would be stumbling over all the cables and extension leads in a room brighter than the freezer section of Tesco's. It would be a like a scene out of Gremlins Grin

Interested to read the responses! OP yours sounds a much classier set up than mine SmileTotally do it, OP. I may have already bought a million command hooks for the magical twinkly bedroom ----

Hyggehygge · 04/01/2019 20:05

Bollocks - I would so have twinkly lights in my bedroom if I could. We have a totally unsuitable set up for it though. A few years ago, when my sister stayed with us for Christmas, I threaded coloured Christmas lights through the spare, Victorian-esque bedstead. It looked beautiful and I was so envious!

Good, so all agreed that twinkly lights are acceptable at any time Grin.

I have fond memories of a trip to Santa Monica a couple of decades ago and an enchanting street with lights in all the trees. So beautiful!
