I always find the 1st weekend of dry January fairly testing. How's everyone else getting on?

I’m feeling very, very positive and feel terrific!

My witching hours are 5-7 and once they’ve passed I don’t give booze a thought.

mumsnitter · 04/01/2019 19:10

Hard. Sitting here chewing gum

mumsnitter · 04/01/2019 19:11

I have been VERY productive this week though Grin

I never start dry Jan until the first Monday of Jan as I always need a few days to ease myself into it.

tenbob · 04/01/2019 19:13

DH is making steak and chips

That lovely steak without an equally lovely bottleglass of red to wash it down 😩

Bluebellsarebells · 04/01/2019 19:14

I went to the pub after work and had a coke.
Would have preferred a glass of wine but I'm determined to do this.
I really really want a drink but I know I'm using it as a crutch for sadness, loneliness and stress today.
Loooking forward to getting into bed.
And not waking up with a hangover for the first Saturday for quite a while.

MrsCar · 04/01/2019 19:15

I'm drinking sprite in a wine glass 😭

titsbumfannythelot · 04/01/2019 19:24

Sorry you're feeling sad bluebells, hopefully you have something nice to look forward to this weekend.

I have schloer, but am trying to do lchf so will have to stick to water.

Ok! I’m doing ok. I know from the past that the first two weeks go well. It’s after that I usually cave. Not this time (hopefully)

CerysC · 04/01/2019 19:43

Harder than I thought it would be. I'm not even a heavy drinker but want to get healthier so thought it was a good idea. I'm not so sure right now..

titsbumfannythelot · 05/01/2019 08:23

Well I'm feeling fresh after a good nights sleep.

We can all do this.

I'm giving it a go, so far so good. I've done loads of stuff, paperwork is finally sorted and I've planned to go through a drawer full of photos. Hopefully this will be such a huge job it'll stop me sitting at about 9ish thinking about a glass of wine.

We can do this and I'm convinced my skin is better already well that's what I'm telling myself Smile

redandwhite1 · 05/01/2019 08:28

Easier than I thought but not back to work properly til Monday!!

Bringbackthestripes · 05/01/2019 08:30

I feel worse today than I do when I’ve spent a Friday night drinking!

BlueBrush · 05/01/2019 09:51

My Friday night was fine...but only because I wasn't at work yesterday. It's getting home from work and feeling I need alcohol to de-stress that is going to be my challenge.

dreamingofsun · 05/01/2019 10:10

can i join please. i have a cold, so feeling ill and that always puts me off drinking. next week my son is on late shifts so i cant drink anyway. lets hope i dont weaken after that
