hi,my son lives 300 miles away at uni (started last sept) hes been home for 3 weeks for Christmas and is going back tomorrow

it leaves me and the 12yr old in the family home \but am going to really miss him and not looking forward to him going at all

Im proud he is at uni and seems to manage well there but we have had such a good time here its going to be so quiet

Cant travel to visit so wont see him till late April but obviously stay in touch

thought i would be glad to see him go,less mess/washing etc

anybody else seeing their kids of to Uni this week??

Same here. For various reasons I didn't see so much of him in his first year, so am able to appreciate him more this year!

I struggle to adjust at first because of the amount of food he eats, but its been great cooking for someone with a big appetite.

I'll miss the laughs and manly hugs - neither of which I get off my DH.

I feel your pain...

I waved my son off to another continent. It's so hard but I have to focus on his achievements and the fact that he is happy. You do get used to it. I'm so proud of him.
