Period after coming off of depo

Hiya, I had been on DEPO for 6 years.. I had never missed an injection until July.. so I thought I would wait so I could have a period, (who would want a period I know!!) On 1/1/19 I started to get cramps and I thought I had come on. I was using pads but they were comjng off clean most of the time. And when I wiped the blood was light pinkish... I googled this (stupid I know) and now am worrying that I could be pregnant as this is a sign of egg implantation.

It took about a year from my last injection for periods to come back properly and I had on and off again pink spotting at all sorts of random times whilst waiting for it to settle down. Its unlikely but do a test anyway just in case.

Took me about a year for periods to come back after having the injection for about 7 years.

I think that it really messed up my fertility.

It is not unusual to have a prolonged period (sorry) of intermittent or non existent bleeds when coming off depo.

Don't worry about it, just be patient...

14 months for my first period and another 4-5 before they were anything like regular. Ranged from 15 to 39 days at first.

Well, you might be. The first time I got pregnant I was pregnant 7 weeks after my depo injection ran out having been on it for 4 years. I never had a period because I conceived the first time ovulated.

Although it can take a while for your periods to return, I’ve been back on depo between all of my children and I had 3 in 5 years so it wasn’t the case for me and isn’t for everyone.
