I’m just being nosey and trying to get some inspiration! Where are you going and how much is it costing? TIA

We are going to Holland in April and possibly Majorca in July.

OP posts:
MadisonAvenue · 05/01/2019 07:36

Prague in March and we’re looking to book something for later in the year, possibly Krakow.

We usually go to the US but realised that we haven’t seen much of Europe and neither of us enjoy beach/pool holidays in the sun so decided to do city breaks for a couple of years.

Allyg1185 · 05/01/2019 07:37

France for two weeks in the summer and Skye in October. Will just have day trips in Easter when I'm off

EnglishGirlApproximately · 05/01/2019 07:44

Disneyland Paris is March for 4 nights.
Caribbean cruise out of Miami in October half term.
Week in a lodge in Derbyshire at Easter.
Hoping to go away in August but not sure where, I fancy a fly and flop in Spain maybe.

MarchInHappiness · 05/01/2019 07:47

Off to Queensland / New South Wales in OZ at December & January to visit DH family (he's an Aussie)

DD and I are going on a long weekend to Berlin in April for her birthday.

Probably do a long weekend camping in August in Dorest, depending if we have enough annual leave Grin

DD is not coming to Australia (GSCEs & she is DH step daughter) so we are paying for her to go to Hawaii with a friend and her family.

cheesenpickles · 05/01/2019 07:52

Off to Portugal with dh, 2dd and fil for a week. I think it was about £1600, self-catered.

Mummyilovejokes1 · 05/01/2019 08:00

Greece in Aug school holiday 2adults 2kids 5* AL- cant wait £4600 roughly but that includes an upgraded room and private pool.
Cornwall or Devon early Sept but haven't decided on where yet, we are just starting to look around for places to stay.

alste · 05/01/2019 08:01

Turkey (olu deniz) in May for 2 weeks.
Greece (pefkos) in July 11 nights.
Nothing else planned but looking into a cheeky weekend before May holiday somewhere/anywhere.

TheFairyCaravan · 05/01/2019 08:02

La Palma for the first two weeks of April if they'll grant DH's leave.

Somewhere else for a week or so in September but I've got surgery planned so not a clue yet.

claireymrsd · 05/01/2019 08:07

We're going to NYC for 6 nights in April (for my 40th birthday)

Two weeks in Madeira in August

We've just had an overnight stay in Bath.

BifsWif · 05/01/2019 08:12

Lapland in December, Rome in September for a long weekend and possible Center Parcs Sherwood Forest in the summer.

We’re usually lucky if we get a week in a tent somewhere!

NaturalBornWoman · 05/01/2019 08:25

I'm going to NZ at the end of Feb, NYC at the end of April and Cornwall at the beginning of July. We'll have 10 days in Greece or Turkey at the start of September but not booked yet.

SharonStrzelecki · 05/01/2019 22:57

Mallorca in June, then camping in Northumberland for a week in the summer holidays. Hoping to go to center Parcs for a weekend at some point too. Oh and a weekend in a lodge with my sister and her lovely family in North Yorkshire in a couple of weeks.

Starlight90 · 05/01/2019 23:11

Center Parcs. Don’t do abroad.

JustBeingJobless · 05/01/2019 23:25

We’ve got nothing booked yet, but hoping to book one or two of the Sun holidays next week. Probably Holland if I can get it, and Wales. We’ve also got a dinky little old touring caravan so will have plenty of weekends away over the year. Actually, I lie, we’ve got a rally booked in April, but it’s only half an hour away from home, so doesn’t really feel like a holiday!

SushiMonster · 05/01/2019 23:33

Couple of ski trips, taking most of my holiday.
Week in Spain in a villa.
Long weekend in Ibiza.
Long weekend in Pyrenees.
Haven’t sorted the summer out yet. Probably do a few more long weekends away as well.

Not including U.K. based weekends or camping.

WaitingForEgg · 05/01/2019 23:47

This year we are doing a 3.5 month work/leisure combo trip. Nepal for 4 weeks, Melbourne for 4 weeks, China for 4 weeks then Thailand for 2 weeks. Cost I’m trying not to think about

teetree0 · 05/01/2019 23:48

Can anyone recommend a short haul first holiday for my DC's both early 20's and will be going alone they've never been abroad at all but both v sensible.

HelmutFrontbut · 06/01/2019 00:00

Liverpool next month, Budapest in March. So excited!

heatherblue · 06/01/2019 00:07

Appleby in Westmorland, Cumbria for a week in February. This may sound like insanity but we're considering retiring to the area and thought it would be a good idea to see it at the worst time of year before making a decision.

Northumberland for a week in June. Might also have another week somewhere else.

Adversecamber22 · 06/01/2019 02:06

My niece is marrying in Chicago in September so we will probably go to Boston as well as Chicago. Will also hire a can boat at Easter.

teetree0 maybe Palma in Majorca as it’s city and beach. Depends on what they like really. I loved Budapest, it had great museums and very friendly people. Barcelona is also good for a short haul break or Rome.

hmmwhatatodo · 06/01/2019 02:18

Nowhere. Wow at all of these organised people who have multiple trips planned and booked.

umpteennamechanges · 06/01/2019 02:34

Just back from 5 nights in NYC.

Two weeks in Canada - Toronto & British Columbia in July for DH's 40th

One week in Mallorca in September with DM and DGM.

4 nights in Vienna for Christmas markets in December.

Only Mallorca is booked so far though.

windygallows · 06/01/2019 02:50

This thread has totally opened my eyes. I thought the norm was one, maybe two holidays per year but -wow- there are a lot of people who do 4,5 and 6+and must spend upwards of £10-20k pa on holidays.

This must be Mumsnet normal not real life normal, right?

notangelinajolie · 06/01/2019 03:00

Ironbridge, Highlands and Norway. Seperate trips and all when it gets a bit warmer. And Boston later on in the year. Away next Christmas too but not sure where yet but preferably somewhere warm Smile

notangelinajolie · 06/01/2019 03:05

And may also book a villa in Spain for a couple of weeks in school holidays if enough DC's are interested in coming. Won't book if it's only the 2 of us.
