Uses for shortcrust pastry!

I have two packs of ready-rolled shortcrust pastry in the freezer to use up.

I'm severely lacking inspiration, I always make the same quiche

Hit me with your favourite recipes, sweet or savoury

Cheese straws
Jam tarts
Tarte tatin
Cornish pasties
Meat pies
Apple pie
Bakewell's tart

What cheesy said and:

Primrose pie (actually really good, given the main ingredient)
Chocolate tart
Treacle tart

Next time you have some left over casserole, stick it in a pie dish and put some pastry over it. Beef in beer is good, or chicken and mushroom.

Can you do cheese straws or tarte tatin with shortcrust? Thought they needed puff pastry?

Pasties of all types
Tarts...sweet ones - creme pat and soft fruit, apricot with a frangipane filling, custard tart...... flavour the custard with cardomon, nutmeg, lemongrass, saffron or anything else that takes your fancy. Curd tart aka taste bud heaven. I am dribbling now.

Savoury - onion and anchovies, roast Vege, pumpkin, potato and cream... anything goes really.

Cut crackers

Stacked with fruit and a coulis sprinkle with icing sugar (works best with a rich sweet shortcrust)

Wine pie
Any kind of fruit pie.
Veg/quiche type pie

Mince pies
Pizza
Lemon curd tarts
Minve beef and onion pie
Apple pie for sunday pud

I've never made a creme pat tart although I love patisserie. Maybe I ought to try it.
